René van Veen

René runs our warehouse, together with Ingmar and Ber. He’s the regular point of contact there for the aluminium profiles, but in busy times or during the holiday period, he also helps out ‘on the pipes’. He unloads the containers which have come in and organises incoming products for the customers. René has been at Amari Metals for more than a quarter of a century and a colleague of Roy’s for even longer; he knew Roy at his previous job.

Outside work, you’ll regularly find René at the waterfront, anywhere in the region around his home town of Wijk bij Duurstede, fishing for carp and pike. ‘I always go in the evenings, never at the weekend.’ He winks. ‘I’m still married, you see.’
